So I'm almost 18 weeks pregnant and for the past week have been feeling extremely hostile towards my BF....today it esculated to the point that I actually punched him several times...(I've never laid my hands on anyone in anger prior to today).....

I know my hormones as well as my anxiety disorder are raging out of control but is this aggression and over sensitivity pregnancy related?

Talk with your Doc, you may need a low dose of anti-anxiety med to help that would be ok to take during pregnancy. These hormones are CRAZY hehe

Hmmm, is there an underlying reason that you feel so hostile toward him? Money issues, job, ect? Or is it everyone in general? Are you getting enough sleep? I agree that you should look into a safe anxiety med, just so you can relax a little.

I feel ya on this aggression with the pregnancy! I to have been really bad with aggression towards everyone from about the beginning actually. I was taking Anxiety medication and depression pills before getting prego and well...they said they wanted me to stop. I believe this is why I have such bad mood swings now. I too have been beating up my Hubby kicking him punching him yelling and its really horrible! My Ob said she would give me something for it..but I choose not to take it because they really do not want you taking it anyways.

I just do my best to breathe and walk away when I feel the need to get nasty or walk away and scream ; )

I have been way more sensitive the past few months. I have absolutely no tolerance for most things, esp when some of my classroom kids do something completely off the wall. (like today I had a kindergardener play around with his coat and mittens for so long that he was about to miss the bus. A few months ago I would have just helped him, today I waited for him to finish his antics.)
With that being said, yes, I have no tolerance, but it is never OK to be violent with another person. I think that you need to talk to a professional to make sure there's not an underlying problem and if there is then maybe there's help in the form of medicine or therapy.

Thank you to all *****sponded.....it has mainly been towards everyone...being irritated by the silliest of things....I know all too well that violence towards anyone is NEVER okay...I myself was in a physically/emotionally abusive relationship myself from  the time I was 17-21 (9 yrs ago)...

I'm currently on cymbalta and a VERY low dose of seroquel at night and have been seeing a therapist for over a year....I'm usually extremely passive but for a short while now I've been feeling aggressive....I feel completely terrible about feeling so frustrated!

Anyway thank you ladies....I don't feel so horrible now...I've made peace with my DBF but ultimately I know on the 8th I'm going to need to discuss my feelings/actions with my OB...once again thank you ladies!  :)

Barby - you are so brave to post that on here.  - I am glad everyone has shown you support. I'd say for sure they're pregnancy related.

I have been feeling hostile to my husband - even from the way he drinks his tea and coughs.
I even emailed a friend who had sent some "funny pregnancy jokes" to me and said that I'd be happy to never hear from him again...........................he is my best friend in the whole world. Luckily he's really sympathetic and didn't freak out on me.

I don't know what's going on - but I am on celexa for anxiety and panic and today I though about maybe needing to increase my dose. I have an OB appt tomorrow, so will discuss it then.

Thinking of you,
Becky

I have crazy weepy moments at night. I go OFF!!! I know it's hormones because I don't even cry at funerals. My BF is patient, most days...lol. He's gotten the brunt of my antics. I try to go to bed when I feel the "hulk" coming on. Good luck to you!
